PREV-AM® Label Extension Brings Broader Protection to Australian Growers

Share on:

Rovensa Next is proud to announce the official extension of the PREV-AM® label in Australia. This update expands the product’s registration to cover a wider range of crops and pests, reinforcing PREV-AM’s role as a versatile and sustainable product and one that is ideal for integrated pest and disease management programs.

A Proven Performer, Now with Broader Reach

PREV-AM® is a 3 in 1 contact insecticide, miticide, and fungicide based on 60 g/L orange oil. It acts quickly on contact, offering effective control of key pests and diseases without leaving residues. Its unique mode of action makes it ideal for resistance management and safe for use up to harvest, aligning with the needs of growers.

Previously, PREV-AM® was registered for use on tomatoes, eggplants, cucurbits, peas, strawberries, and raspberries, targeting pests such as silverleaf whitefly, two-spotted mite, and powdery mildew.

What’s New in the Label Extension

The updated label significantly broadens PREV-AM’s application across multiple crop groups and pest targets:

  • New Crops Registered: The label now includes crop group of fruiting, vegetables, berries, legume beans, bulb vegetables, broccoli, cabbage, celery, herbs (e.g., basil, mint, parsley), apples, citrus (including oranges, mandarins, lemons etc.), pawpaw, lychee, and winegrapes
  • Expanded Pest & Disease Spectrum: In addition to existing targets, PREV-AM® now offers suppression or control of:
  • Thrips (onion, western flower, tomato)
  • Aphids (green peach, melon, woolly apple)
  • Serpentine Leafminers
  • Mealybugs and scale insects
  • Budmite (in winegrapes)
  • Rust mites and oriental spider mites (in citrus)
  • Powdery mildew and grey mould across more crops
  • Downy mildew in bulb vegetables

Sustainable and Flexible Use

PREV-AM® is an ideal fit for growers incorporating Integrated Pest Management (IPM). PREV-AM® has no residual activity, it can be used up to harvest and is compatible with beneficial insects, which can be reintroduced just four hours after application.

Its compatibility with most crop protection products and foliar fertilisers enhances its flexibility in tank mixes.

Application Best Practices

To maximise efficacy, PREV-AM® must be applied as a contact spray, ensuring thorough coverage of both leaf surfaces. It is most effective when used at early pest or disease onset, with repeat applications at 5–14-day intervals depending on pest pressure. For optimal results, especially against pests like scale and mealybug, timing applications to early instar stages is critical for Serpentine leafminer.

The label extension of PREV-AM® represents a strategic advancement for Australian horticulture, offering growers a broader, safer, and more sustainable solution to protect their crops. With its expanded registration, PREV-AM® continues to deliver on its promise: effective control, minimal residues, and compatibility with IPM strategies.
